History | Past Presidents | Objects, Benefits, & Obligations | Avenues of Service

Rotary is a service club and there are four avenues of service that all Rotary Clubs pursue.  Neenah Rotary has four standing committees, each with a chairperson and subcommittees.  The four areas of service are:

Pete Weyenberg - Chair

Club Service means those things a that Rotarian does to help his club function successfully. By being present at meetings, participating in its fellowship, and by taking part in its programs, a member is serving Neenah Rotary. Serving on committees, or serving as an officer, and paying dues promptly all help the club run more efficiently. Representing Neenah Rotary in outside activities such as speaking at other clubs, attending District Assemblies, conferences and leadership forums are also considered club service activities.

Vocational Service means the obligation of each holder of a classification in Rotary to share the ideal of service in all of the relationships of his or her business or profession with others. A classification is the type of business or specific profession that each member represents in the Club and is assigned by the Classification Committee as part of the acceptance process for new members.

Community Service means those things that a Rotarian does, either as an individual or in conjunction with others, which demonstrates his/her thoughtfulness of and helpfulness toward others in the community. The challenge is to take an active, personal interest in the community and its people. Promoting goodwill between Neenah and the surrounding communities is also a function of this Avenue of Service.

International Service means those things that a Rotarian can do to advance international understanding, goodwill, and peace. By getting acquainted with people of other countries, their cultures, customs, accomplishments, aspirations, and problems, a Rotarian can serve those goals. Personal contact with Neenah RotaryĆs own exchange students and traveling to other countries, where the Rotarian can seek to promote understanding, also are opportunities to serve international goodwill.
